About Baldwin, NY - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Baldwin is a village in the town of Hempstead in the county of Nassau on Long Island, New York.  A family-friendly and quiet hamlet, Baldwin is home to many public parks and facilities and is attractive to commuters and families looking for an alternative to the hustle and bustle of New York City.  The seasonal weather gives this village a special character and an ever changing landscape.  Enjoy sun and fun in the summer, then build a snowman in December.

Village facilities include Baldwin Park (which has a skate park), Coes Neck Park, Lofts Pond Park, and Silver Lake Park. These parks are wonderful place to spend a lovely spring or summer day playing sports or enjoying nature.  There are facilities to play basketball, handball, paddleball, tennis, volleyball, softball, baseball, soccer, tennis and baseball.  There are also multiple bike paths, a roller rink and a spray pool.

Long Island is generally known as a commuter area for those working in NYC and as a summer and spring beach destination.  However, it is of great significance to American popular culture. Many nearby villages, also within the town of Hempstead, have been featured in film and television shows. Nearby Atlantic Beach is the home of the fictional character Sonny Corleone in the classic film, The Godfather. In keeping with its mobster movie reputation, scenes from both the HBO series The Sopranos and a great deal of the film, Goodfellas were filmed within Atlantic Beach.  The small village of Lynbrook has had a few minutes of fame, as well.  The sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond is actually set within the village of Lynbrook even though the show was actually filmed in California.  The Lynbrook store, “Trainland” was featured in an episode of The Sopranos shot in 2007.

In addition to being of cultural and societal significance, Long Island is also geographically significant.  It is the largest island in the contiguous United States, the 11th longest in the country, and the 148th largest island in the entire world. Its long and narrow shape gives it a great deal of coastline and makes it a boater’s, beach bum’s or fisherman’s paradise. Taking all of this into account, one can imagine what this area’s beaches look like in the heat of the summer.
