About Rockville Centre, NY - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Rockville Centre is a village in the southwestern portion of the Town of Hempstead. Hempstead is located in Nassau County which is on Long Island. Rockville Centre is only one of over 20 villages within the confines of Hempstead and if Hempstead were to be incorporated as a city it would be second only to New York City as the largest city in the state. The seasonal weather, beautiful coastline and proximity to NYC make this part of the state very attractive to professionals, families and anyone looking to get away from the busy urban environment of the city itself.

The island is known for being a hot spot for summer vacation and spring breakers but it is also a culturally significant part of the country.  Rockville Centre is the hometown of many celebrities (Howard Stern, Dave Attell and Bethenny Frankel just to name a dew) and has been featured in film and TV on many occasions.  Rockville Centre was the setting of the episode “Long Island”, of the television show “Insomniac.” The 2004 Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet film, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind mentions Rockville Centre as the destination of both main characters when they ditch work to visit Montauk, Long Island.  Famed director Edward Burns has used Rockville Centre as the setting for many of his films’ scenes. Nearby Atlantic Beach is the home of the fictional character Sonny Corleone in the classic film, The Godfather. In keeping with its mobster movie reputation, scenes from both the HBO series The Sopranos and a great deal of the film, Goodfellas were filmed within Atlantic Beach.  The small village of Lynbrook has had a few minutes of fame, as well.  The sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond is actually set within the village of Lynbrook even though the show was actually filmed in California.  The Lynbrook store, “Trainland” was featured in an episode of The Sopranos shot in 2007.

In addition to being of cultural and societal significance, Long Island is also geographically significant.  It is the largest island in the contiguous United States, the 11th longest in the country, and the 148th largest island in the entire world. Its long and narrow shape gives it a great deal of coastline and makes it a boater’s, beach bum’s or fisherman’s paradise. Taking all of this into account, one can imagine what this area’s beaches look like in the heat of the summer.
